About this workshop

This workshop will cover the concept of minimum viable product (MVP) for startups, new products, or new features. Real world examples will be provided to prepare you to identify what an MVP is and what can be captured in the product backlog.

The course will also discuss tactics on how to test and validate ideas, how to avoid MVP scope creep, and why the MVP acronym is its own worst enemy.

Students will have the opportunity to apply concepts learned in the workshop by engaging in collaborative exercises.

By the end of the session, students should be able to define a laser-focused MVP to move their startup or product in the right direction.

This workshop can be helpful to startup founders, product owners, and product managers.

Takeaways

Students should be able to:

  • Convert ideas into manageable and testable hypotheses.

  • Explain how defining your target audience affects MVP.

  • Establish metrics as a core aspect of an MVP.

  • Create a rough draft of an MVP and describe how to put it into action.

Prereqs & Preparation

Basic understanding of Lean Startup and Product Management concepts helpful but not required.
