Video game design requires a combination of narrative and technical skills, along with an understanding of player psychology and the ways people play and learn. In this course you will learn the foundations of designing and developing a video game.
This class will teach you foundations of how games work, and how this knowledge applies to your own game design, beginning with the absolute necessities needed to create a compelling game, and building from there through playtesting and refinement of the design. You’ll learn how to understand and plan the mechanics of a game’s design, how these mechanics drive a dynamic play experience, and how to craft all of this into a compelling and complete design.
