About This Event

In celebration of pride we will be hosting thought provoking discussions on diversity and inclusion.

But how do we identify the key why's and how's of cultural diversity?

Join us for a series of fireside chats as we bring together key influencers who are at the forefront of cultural inclusion alongside some of our wonderful instructors and student community both past and present, to join us for a roundtable discussion on a variety of themes and ideas connected to celebrating Pride and the LGBT community.

We'll discuss why diversity has a positive impact on companies - and ultimately a beneficial contribution to our economy - and how you can pioneer diversity where you work, no matter what your position.

About the Panelists

Aiden Carroll Photo

Co-founder of The Coloring In Department

A nice guy, entrepreneur and moderately well known marketing personality. Aiden has worked with numerous brands, both global and notable, in shaping and delivering their digital and advertising strategies - not to neglect making sure those strategies stick, with a ton of up skilling. To date, he’s been involved in campaigns producing 20+ awards, from the Cannes Lions to the Webbys.

He’s also been involved in some seriously catastrophic failures along the way, you know what they say about omelettes. 🍳

Aiden is more than a little bit obsessed with the technology sector, and even more so with the future of education and communicating ideas. He’s trained over 65,000 marketers to date, from over 75 countries.

He currently spending a great deal of time nurturing the marketing needs of a variety of global brands, as co-founder of The Coloring In Department, as the original Google We Are Squared guy, as part of a crack team of General Assembly tech folk, and as a presenter and gun for hire. 👨‍🎤

Most importantly, he loves what he does, and anyone who tells you different is a damn liar, and definitely can't be trusted.

Also, he will -never- wear a suit.

Luis Klefsjo Photo

Digital Product Designer & UX Facilitator,
Make Us Proud

Luis is a previous graduate of the User Experience Design immersive programme. After the course, he spent a year supporting the London Instructional team as an Expert in Residence before taking up his current role at the Make Us Proud, a digital agency based in Old Street. He has a background in creative design, teaching and Operations.

Becky Bolton Photo

Front End Web Developer

Bex moved into a career in Web Development after 9 years working as a Book Seller and still suffers from an irresistible urge to tidy tables and shelves whenever in a book shop, which is often. Bex identifies as queer and non-binary, but generally isn’t fussed about pronouns.

Henry Price Photo

Academic ICL and BCL

Henry graduated from Imperial College with a degree in Theoretical Physics. However this was with his failing health due to Cystic Fibrosis.

Henry has visiting academic position at the Centre for Complexity Science (Imperial College), where he was working while his lung function dropped to 16% of normal.

He had his lung Transplant last year and remains involved at Imperial College, doing research in Complex Networks and Directed Acyclic Graphs. Most recently Archeological Networks.

He was planning on returning to Physics, however through a serendipitous meeting, now will take a PhD position to research Bitcoin and Blockchains in Finance, and this will be his focus for the next few years.

It helps that he has been a long time disciple of Satoshi Nakamoto ;).

Malcolm Wai Photo

Digital Marketer

A recent graduate of the Digital Marketing course at GA after 13 years working for a writers organisation as an IT Manager, Malcolm made a career change into Marketing and is currently enjoying work as a Brand Officer. He loves it when the worlds of technology and creativity meet in marketing.

Ever the optimist, Malcolm dreams of having a poodle parlour, record shop & patisserie next to each other.

Brandon Pfeiffer Photo

UX Designer

Brandon just completed the GA User Experience Design immersive programme 2 weeks ago and absolutely loved it.

Graduating from an Advertising Degree at RMIT University in Melbourne, Brandon completed his final semester in London and decided to stay. An ‘Intro to coding’ elective in his final semester changed the trajectory of his career plans and his attraction for designing for people’s attention shifted to design for people's ease.

Brandon has was worked with non-profits National Student Pride, The Melbourne Queer Film and Midsumma Festival in marketing and PR roles. Amongst others roles at a Health club, a Hospital Emergency Room and even as a Cheerleader and Mascot Performer.

When not doing course homework he is designing paper cut artwork, swimming, pointing out dogs or being MC to some recent GA events.
