About this workshop series

Gain the competencies you need to build basic web pages and features from start to finish. In this accelerated 1-week intensive, you'll learn to:

  • Write code in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery
  • Build in concert using Sublime Text or Atom that stands apart from usual templates
  • Understand how a skillful mix of programming and layout powers the web we see – and how teams collaborate to create it.

Immediately apply newfound knowledge and skills to your current job or enhance your professional portfolio on the path to a new one.

Upon completion of this course, you will possess similar depth of knowledge, competencies, and learning outcomes as in our 10-week part-time Front-End Web Development course. The accelerated program is ideal for people who already feel tech-savvy but don't have coding experience and want to add it to their skill-set. It is also ideal for potential Web Development Immersive students who want to get a leg-up on their front-end skills, get used to the bootcamp format, and hit the ground running for their immersive.

How is this course different from Front-End Web Development?

We will be covering the same material, except there will not be time to go deep into JavaScript functions. We have redesigned the entire curriculum to make activities more efficient, while relying on students to come in with more pre-work completed. Students will have completed a final project of similar calibre as the 10 week course. Students can plan on 2-4 hours of homework a night during the week, with about 10 hours of pre-work.

First of its kind

Being the first course of its kind, this exclusive opportunity is being offered only to GA alumni and friends at the significantly reduced price of $1000. In return, students are expected to give frequent feedback to the curriculum design team to help us improve the course experience.

Course Dates

  • Monday, October 17th - Saturday October 22nd
  • Class will be held from 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday and 9am - 12pm on Saturday for presentations.
