About This Workshop

Looking for a simple, flexible, and quick way to pull your own data from a database without having to bother the IT department or data engineers for an Excel export? Look no further!

In this free, two-hour livestream, you’ll get a foundational understanding of SQL. We’ll cover the basics of SQL structure, querying databases, filtering and aggregating data, and JOINing tables. All in real time, taught by an industry professional.

Come learn the basics and gain the skills you need to extract data and write queries with SQL!

Preparation

  • This class is taken completely online, and requires a computer and a strong internet connection.
  • A second monitor is recommended if you want to follow-along in class.

About the Instructor

Senior Technical Program Manager, Vungle

Travis Huang is a data scientist and former investment analyst with expertise in financial forecasting, user acquisition (UA) modeling, and machine learning. Born and raised in sunny Southern California, he spent 3 years as a business analyst at a solar energy firm before becoming the manager of analytics at an energy and commodities-focused private equity fund. In his current role as a Data Scientist at AlgoLIFT, he is responsible for the development and maintenance of the UA portfolio optimization product. He holds a BS in Finance and Entrepreneurship from the USC Marshall School of Business and a MS in Business Analytics at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. In his free time he enjoys aerial photography, fostering dogs, and practicing the violin.
