About This Class Series

This Excel Class is a series of three classes designed for participants who are looking to take their Excel knowledge from beginner's level to advanced. (The participants who succeed the most are comfortable using a computer and navigating around desktop programs on their own).

The first class is an introduction to Excel, which will touch briefly on everything from navigation and layout to using very basic arithmetic functions and charts. The second class will cover further functionality to ensure participants have an intermediate knowledge base.

In the final class of the series, we will move beyond the basics of spreadsheet creation and manipulation. The expectation of this fast-paced class is for participants to be able to leave and begin immediately using the new skills and concepts learned in their professional roles. Topics will include data “cleaning”/troubleshooting and showing attendees how to use some of the more advanced features of Excel to assimilate, analyze and summarize data having multiple attributes. We will also develop Pivot Tables, advanced graphs, and create basic macros. Ideally, participants will learn how to effectively manipulate and streamline data to ultimately use in conveying “data stories” upon which business decisions will be based—participants will learn to present data in a way that allows leadership a clear understanding of their organization to begin having the right conversations. Class exercises will be utilized to facilitate understanding.
