About this event

Can you imagine where your life would be without the support of your parents, mentors, or champions? The reality is that most foster youth age out of the system at 18 with no family or mentors to turn to for support. You can do something about that. Join Foster Nation at our career mentoring event with foster youth that are overcoming all odds and graduating from college!

Hosted at General Assembly, our event will assist foster youth currently enrolled in college with their career development. Foster youth will have the unique opportunity to mentor and network with professionals in the LA community. Basically, all of you!

Only 10% of foster youth make it college. The students at our event are the best of the best despite all odds. All they need for success is a little mentorship and a network of people willing to help!

The event will feature guest speakers and engage foster youth in career workshops.

Networkers & Super Connectors:

We are looking for working professionals from diverse backgrounds at this event.

Whether someone is beginning their career or a CEO, we welcome their engagement because we believe everyone can speak to their experience of having to start somewhere. This event is a great opportunity for professionals to connect with foster youth and help them to network for success.

Please contact us at [EMAIL ADDRESS] to volunteer, share your expertise and career journey with some of the most resilient and incredible foster youth we work with. We would like to have professionals from a range of industries, including Business /Law, Tech & Engineering, Science and Medicine, Nonprofit/Government, and Entertainment/Arts.

Parking: DTLA street parking can be tricky. Joe’s Parking at 350 E. 2nd Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013 is located close to the event location. The price is $10.

Massive shoutout to Headspace for sponsoring this event!

We will also collect new and lightly-worn professional clothing. Donations will go towards our pop-up boutiques for local foster youth to receive professional attire for interviews or jobs. We encourage everyone to rifle through their closets and bring some clothes with them.
