Starting and growing a business can be overwhelming and lonely, particularly for the military-connected community. Bunker Labs provides the network and resources to simplify the entrepreneurial journey to build successful businesses.
I spent my first year as a military spouse in a great corporate job, then we moved to a duty station with few job opportunities so I completed my MBA online. Then we moved overseas where there were limitations on hiring Americans due to SOFA laws. When we finally moved to California in 2015, that's when I started my freelance writing job, and I have now successfully grown my business while living at 3 different duty stations!
I am a professional editor and author who has published hundreds of articles supporting the military community. My Seasoned Spouse blog shares resources and stories to encourage fellow military families. This year, my 3rd book, "Open When: Letters of Encouragement for Military Spouses," will be published by Military Family Books in September.

When I was a child, I loved being a cheerleader and playing basketball. Born and bred in Kentucky, I continue to bleed Wildcat Blue and am a diehard UK fan. Although I no longer sport pom-poms and ponytails, make no mistake I am still the #1 cheerleader for causes and people close to my heart. I continue to be the loudest soccer mom on the field, and the best couch coach John Calipari can rely on.
I take this same cheerleading spirit to those I coach through a career transition. Always upbeat, I celebrate every achievement as I recognize and cultivate the potential in others. I love witnessing my clients’ journey using the experience I have in providing a full range of programs and services to assist with career planning and creating ah-ha moments. These services include values clarification, career assessments, job exploration, labor market trends, job search methods, workshops, career programming/program management, career-related resources, social media networking, interviewing, and counseling individuals on workforce training and career services.
As a military spouse of 24 years, my life has been in a constant state of transition. This experience has enabled me to be a quick-connector who is resourceful and compassionate. What I enjoy most about the military lifestyle is that there are no strangers in my world, only friends that I have yet to meet.
In the future, I would like to work in a position that allows me to individualize my services to provide one-on-one coaching to those facing a career transition.
