  • Learn techniques to improve ideation and prototyping
  • Discover how to tell a compelling story to engage audiences
  • Identify new ways to serve and support people by uncovering latent needs, behaviors, and desires

This session will not be recorded, however slides will be shared following the class.

About the Instructor

Steph Mellor Photo

Principal at DigIO, Design and UX instructor ,
General Assembly

Steph is a human-centred design practitioner and coach delivering value-driven projects in strategic, service and experience design. As a General Assembly instructor, she draws on deep knowledge and experience in human behaviour and psychology, digital and organisational transformation, change implementation, and end-to-end project management.

A certified agile ScrumMaster with a combined background in internet science and sociology, Steph's experience includes: leading the Customer Experience Improvement Strategies for both the Cities of Boroondara and Port Phillip in Melbourne; the redesign of the Australian Department of Finance's staff intranet; delivering design thinking bootcamps for Singaporean government ministries; and conducting user research projects for New Zealand Customs and the City of Auckland.

Currently driving world-class research and design capability at human-centred technology consultancy Mantel Group, Steph is passionate about bringing coaching practice and design thinking together to deliver high-quality human experiences and build capability in others. She loves connecting technical and non-technical tribes, getting diverse humans working together, evangelising HCD and UX mindsets, coffee and talking (of course).
