About this workshop

Data has become the most important resource for every business, and so the ability to distill raw numbers into meaningful messages is coveted by employers and entrepreneurs alike. But the insights gained from data analysis will only ever be truly valuable if they can be clearly expressed to other people – bosses, colleagues, clients, customers, or other stakeholders.

In this workshop you’ll learn techniques for communicating data-driven stories effectively to a range of audiences using JavaScript tools and frameworks. As well as discussing best practice examples, you’ll get hands-on to create your own visualisation, and get an overview of JavaScript libraries such as Chart.js, D3 and Dygraphs.

This workshop will be most useful for anybody working with lots of data (as an analyst, data scientist, academic, finance officer, or business managers) who needs to find creative ways to effectively convey the meaning to others.

Please note that some of the principles and examples covered in this evening are the same as those in the Get the picture: Introduction to infographics workshop, although the hands-on techniques are different.

No prior coding experience is required. Student must bring a laptop with the following pre-installed:

Any questions or concerns, drop the tutor a line: alan@cleverboxer.com
