Interested in data science, but don’t know where to start? Then the Data Science Bootcamp is for you. This day long workshop is designed to allow the data curious to gain a panoramic view of the data science profession and its most important ideas. By the end of the day you’ll understand the types of data a data scientist typically works with, key patterns they try and identify, and see working examples of analytical models used for different types of problems. It’s meant to help you get "The Big Picture" about data science before you decide if it’s the right field for you and pursue further study in it.
This workshop places a heavy emphasis on examples with working code to illustrate the daily tools that are used to wrangle, manipulate and make sense of complicated data. Although it uses many coding examples it does not require coding skills from its students (even though that always helps!) in order to participate.
Who This Workshop Is For:
General Assembly’s classes, workshops & events are for recreational purposes and are not regulated by the bureau of proprietary school supervision.
If this class is recorded, students will be sent the recording link within 7 days after class completion by email. Students are encouraged to download and save any shared materials (worksheets, deck if applicable) during class for later reference as they are not be shared by email.
Download and install Anaconda before class (this will include python): https://www.anaconda.com/products/individual
If you do not download Anaconda you will need python 3.+ installed on your computer
Experience with python is helpful but coding experience is not necessary to complete the workshop
You will need access to a laptop or computer with a working webcam and microphone as well as a strong internet connection.
This class will occur completely online using Zoom.
Class setup information will be emailed to all students signed up around 24 hours before (and again an hour before) your class launches.
