Do you have an idea for the next big thing in IT? #DarebinPitchIT is your chance to turn your IT start-up dream into a business reality. If you live, work, play or study in the City of Darebin, pitch your idea for the opportunity to win expert business mentoring and $10,000 in start-up cash!

The digital economy has transformed the way we live through applications such as banking apps, Netflix, eBay and Google. Darebin Pitch IT! aims to unleash the development of the next wave of digital services and support the very best digital talent that the City of Darebin has to offer. The program offers investment, working space, acceleration services and networks for IT-based start-ups. This includes an intensive two-day boot camp style program and custom business mentoring. The support doesn’t stop there. All entrants will receive ongoing support and advice from Council’s Business Development Unit.

To get involved is easy:

  • Submit your idea by 10 June
  • ‘Pitch IT’ to our expert panel on 15 June
  • The best five ideas will enter a rigorous start-up accelerator with leading industry mentors to build, grow and refine your new tech start-up venture
  • Re-pitch your awesome idea at the final awards ceremony for your chance to win the $10,000 to kick-start your dream!

Your idea:

Calling all local students, graduates, professionals and businesses with the next big thing in IT. Your idea can be for social good, for innovation, to change the future, to grow an industry, to challenge the norm, automate a process, and solve a problem. Get creative and don’t hold back! The freedom is yours.  We’re looking for IT start-up ideas that adapt and provide opportunities of the digital and online world.

Your Pitch (June 15):

Pitch your IT idea, startup or big idea for disruption to a panel of judges in five minutes or less.

Key dates and events:

16 May: Submissions open 10 June: Submissions close 15 June: PitchIT! Day 17 June and July 1: Two-day accelerator program. Attendance here is compulsory. Please check your availability to attend both days from 9am-5pm before applying. July 7: Final pitch and Awards ceremony
