The D-Girl Project, in its second season, is a free year long continuous workshop for indie screenwriters, producers, and directors run by Atlanta Producer Linda Burns. To improve participants ability to recognize and critically understand a well told story, this 3 hour class requires reading screenplays and watching TV series, writing loglines and synopsis’, tracking character and story theme arcs, detailing story beats and structure, creating cast descriptions and lookbooks, pitching these shows to the class and defending their positions to the group. The homework serves to inform students own work through osmosis, so that they can apply this new found understanding of story to their next project. It serves asa forum for practice, a safe place for experimentation, and a collaborative environment for honing writing, pitching and packaging skills.
