About this event
We spend more time at work than at home. However a growing body of research shows that an increasing number of people are feeling isolated and lonely in the workplace. This trend is having a negative affect on mental health, physical health and wellbeing. What can we do to connect our workplaces and improve employee wellbeing? This is a free event that looks at the current connection problem and ways we can improve our workplaces.
About the speakers:
Dr Michelle H Lim is a Senior Lecturer and Clinical Psychologist at Swinburne University and the scientific chair of the Australian Coalition to End Loneliness. In 2018 Michelle co-authored ‘The Australian Loneliness Report’, the most comprehensive study of loneliness completed in Australia to date. At this event Michelle will speak about her research in this field and how we can help people to reconnect in the workplace.
Angela Politis is a Director at HR Asset, a Human Resources consultancy providing modern, professional and strategic people partnerships. Angela is an architect and builder of positive organisational cultures, championing the importance of people connections as being essential to achieving business success. At this event Angela will speak about her experience in creating positive workplace cultures and methods to fostering people connection.
