Account Manager - Technology,
Hunt & Co.

Hi there, Fancy meeting you here!

I am Carly Shearman - Account Manager for Technology at Hunt & Co., a boutique digital recruitment agency, and Community Manager for Women in Digital.

From a young age, I realised I loved all things business. I geek out over admin, operations and figuring out what makes businesses flow as their own independent eco-systems. I am also deeply passionate about helping businesses (and people) reach their goals; whether that be through improving their operations, deploying a kicka*** digital marketing & communications strategy or ensuring they have the BEST humans in their business.

Before my current roles, I completed my Bachelor in Media Communications majoring in Entrepreneurship while managing a cafe (which is where I developed my caffeine-addiction). Once I graduated, I joined a Brisbane-based marketing agency where I worked my way up from Admin Assistant to General Manager (and discovered my love of Asana boards).

Nothing lights me up more than working with people to bridge the gap between where they are and where they want to be. By combining my experience in communications & marketing, exposure to the digital industry and passion for businesses, I get to help people advance in their careers and help businesses further develop their employer brand and talent acquisition strategies.

In the rare moments I am not typing away on my laptop, you will find me hanging out with my aging cat, binge-ing on 30 Rock (or Seinfeld, or Brooklyn 99), building my side-hustle book gifting service Tell Her, completing my post-grad studies at QUT or having a cheeky beer by the river.

Want to chat? We should probably connect on LinkedIn.

Career Coach,
General Assembly

I'm a strategic thinker and team lead with an agency background building global entertainment & lifestyle brands, working closely with client teams in London, Sydney, Los Angeles and Singapore.

In 2020 I shifted my focus from helping brands to create communities out of their customers, to helping businesses to create a positive impact through their people. I certified with the Australian HR Institute and joined forces with a business partner to launch Really Good, an impact consultancy helping companies with their journey to B Corp certification.

I believe that businesses are communities that can be a force for positive change, and fulfilling work is a crucial part of people's lives. I'm thrilled to be helping people to find work they love as a Career Coach for General Assembly, alongside creating thriving, inclusive workplaces in my work as a B Consultant.

About Our Partners

Hunt & Co.

We are Hunt & Co.

We are a boutique recruitment agency run by business and digital specialists who care about creating a meaningful, long-term impact in the industry — not salespeople or recruiters.

We are driven by our purpose to create life-changing connections with businesses and people in the digital space.

We believe in finding the right person who helps to build our clients’ businesses, not just their team size.

We are dedicated to quality, not quantity and set ourselves apart through a drive to deliver the best business results for our clients and career results for our candidates.

We are, as one of our clients’ put it, “the most unrecruiter-like recruiters.”
