About this event

Over the course of our lives our motivations and values change, which means work we did in our early 20’s may not be the work we want to do in our 30’s, 40’s, 50’s. We are educated to pass an exam in Maths, but we aren’t taught at school how to find work which we will find engaging and meaningful.

In this talk, Lucy will cover why we’re bad at making career choices and what we can do to improve and make changes to how we find work in order to move forward in ways which are more fulfilling.

Takeaways

  • Insights into the common mistakes we make and why we make them
  • An understanding of why we should steer clear of messages like: ‘find a job you love’ and ‘follow your passion’
  • More clarity and evidence around what types of traits and actions actually lead to more successful career changes
  • Solid advice and tips on what to do to move you forward in your search for a new career
