About this class

Communication skills are key to any business, whether it's technology, sales, law, or medicine. The ability to communicate ideas effectively and build rapport with clients, colleagues, and managers is essential and is a clear indicator of the level of success a person will have. Despite what you may feel or have heard, the ability to relate to and communicate with others is a skill that is something that can be learned; you don't have to be born with it!

In this course, you will delve into the world of interpersonal communication and learn the most common styles of communication that people use on a regular basis. You will also learn how to identify and tweak your own personal communication style to more effectively communicate with people using the other styles, thus building a stronger rapport with them. Next, we will explore the world of non-verbal communication and why it's essential to the world of communication. Periodically throughout the class, we will break out into groups to practice and reinforce the skills you will learn.

Whether you're networking to look for a job or just want to become better and more effective at communicating among the teams at your current job, this course will get you started.
