About this event

According to the Department of Labor, 65% of current students will spend their careers in jobs that have yet to be invented. How do we prepare all students, particularly those from low-income backgrounds, for a changing job market? What skill sets are needed for students to be ready and prepared to succeed in the jobs of today’s economy and those we can’t yet imagine?

STEAM education is one of the most powerful tools we have to connect our students to the opportunities of a future innovation economy. The proliferation of new edtech is transformative, and yet many of those who could most benefit from that lift are still left out of the tech bubble enveloping the more well-to-do districts and communities. Together, we need to determine what is being done to slow the growth of this digital divide amongst underprivileged students. It is imperative that all students, regardless of race, language, or SES background, have access to meaningful technology in order to improve learning outcomes.

Come join us as we discuss the need for STEAM education, showcase the technologies that are moving the needle, and meet the movers and shakers who are making it possible.
