About This Class
Have you always wanted to start a blog, or do you have one that needs some direction? This class will provide you with a toolkit to create, maintain, promote, and drive traffic to your blog.
You will get tips for which blogging platforms and content management systems to use, what kind of layout and content works best for online audiences, how to promote your blog effectively both online and off, and how to drive high-quality traffic to your blog.
Attendees will learn how to create, maintain, and promote a blog, with practical tips learned from the facilitator 11 years of blogging experience.
The class is for those without a current blog or with a basic one that could use a boost. Some knowledge of blogging and the tools used for it will be helpful, but not necessary.
General Assembly’s classes, workshops & events are for recreational purposes and are not regulated by the bureau of proprietary school supervision.
NOTE: this session will not be recorded. Students are encouraged to download and save any shared materials (worksheets, deck if applicable) during class for later reference as they are not be shared by email.
Preparation
- You will need access to a laptop or computer with a working webcam and microphone as well as a strong internet connection.
- This course will occur completely online using Zoom. Registered students will be notified 24 hours in advance of this program with information on how to log in to the Zoom Meeting Room and other tools you’ll need for the session.
- Each individual course participant must have purchased a ticket
About the Instructor
Julie Falconer Digital Influencer and Social Media Strategist
Julie Falconer is a London-based digital strategy consultant. She writes an award-winning travel blog, A Lady in London, for which she has developed a strong social media presence. Julie regularly teaches and lectures on social media and digital marketing, and helps businesses develop their online strategies. Originally from San Francisco, Julie came to London in 2007 after leaving a career in finance, during which she worked for Goldman Sachs and a hedge fund.
