About This Workshop

More than 50% of online product search in the US begins on Amazon.com, yet the Amazon ecosystem remains confusing and obscure to most startups, entrepreneurs and established brands. In this workshop we’ll demystify the ins and outs of the Amazon juggernaut and what it takes to be successful on the platform. This class covers the fundamentals of selling on Amazon, and introduces you to the key differences between Amazon’s Vendor and Seller channels, the core structure and metrics of the Amazon A9 search algorithm, the role reviews play on Amazon in 2018, and zooms in on what it takes to successfully launch a product on Amazon and whether Amazon is right for you.

We’ll use real-world, hands-on examples of Amazon products from start-ups, established brands and white label entrepreneurs to show what works and what doesn’t, so you come out of this workshop knowing the keys to success for selling on Amazon and whether the channel is right for you.

Nick Michlewicz is a Brooklyn-based entrepreneur focused on the intersection of lifestyle and e-commerce. He is the founder of The Upwind Group, a wellness e-commerce group that develops and launches natural products and growth strategies for high-end brands like Thrive Market and Iconic Protein. Nick is a partner at custom nutrition startup WellPath, which he recently teamed with to launch an herbal performance-focused supplement line on Amazon. Their first product ZEN is the top-ranking anxiety relief supplement on Amazon after just two months.

Nick was previously the VP of Commerce at Dotdash (formerly About.com), an IAC Company where he helped Dotdash win DigiDay’s 2017 Publisher of the Year by building a $6m e-commerce content business for their tech and lifestyle verticals. Prior to Dotdash, he was the co-founder and COO of men's lifestyle website InsideHook, which Business Insider called its “#1 site every modern gentleman should bookmark”.

Nick has a comprehensive performance marketing background across Amazon e-commerce, SEO, SEM, email marketing, Facebook advertising, affiliate commerce and more.

Nick began his career representing media and financial services clients at McKinsey & Company, and holds a BA from Amherst College.
