About This Class Series

Whether you have experience in social media or are looking to get started for the first time, this workshop will put you on the fast track to honing your social media skills. In this bootcamp, students will be introduced to the current social media landscape and explore how it can be used for maximum results for brands. Are you ready to learn the tricks, tips and techniques businesses are using to build brands and sell more on social?

General Assembly’s classes, workshops & events are for recreational purposes and are not regulated by the bureau of proprietary school supervision.

If this class is recorded, students will be sent the recording link within 7 days after class completion by email. Students are encouraged to download and save any shared materials (worksheets, deck if applicable) during class for later reference as they are not be shared by email.

Advanced Social Media Bootcamp

Whether you are a Mom and Pop, Fortune 500 company, consultant or nonprofit, social media has quickly moved from our personal sphere into the business world. Today, social media experts and teams are building social advertising campaigns, integrating Google Analytics into measurement dashboards and devising compelling content strategies to feed their social channels. Are you ready to learn the tricks, tips and techniques businesses are using to build brand and sell more on social?

We'll cover:

  • Social media goal setting

  • Google Analytics social integrations

  • Facebook Insights deep dive

  • Paid and unpaid social acquisition

  • Social advertising (Ads Manager, Facebook ad types and ad tracking)

  • Building campaign objectives

  • How to build and test a Facebook ad

  • Content strategy, curation and distribution strategies Case studies and live demos will be presented throughout the session and participants will gain hands on knowledge through breakout sessions.

Preparation

  • You will need access to a laptop or computer with a working webcam and microphone as well as a strong internet connection.

  • This class will occur completely online using Zoom.

  • Class setup information will be emailed to all students signed up around 24 hours before (and again an hour before) your class launches.

  • Each individual class participant must have purchased a ticket.

About the Instructor

Magen Allen Photo

Founder, Radli Inc.

Magen Allen is the founder of Radli Inc., a socially conscious consultancy that helps mission-driven businesses and nonprofits achieve their loftiest goals through digital strategy. Previously, Magen was the Director of Communications for Hunger Free America, where she oversaw the organization’s public message. While there she developed HFA’s digital strategy, organized press and media events, and played a large role in the organization’s brand development.

Magen is driven most by her love of problems, and more specifically thinking through and solving them. Viewing poverty reduction as one of the world’s most pressing problems, Magen travelled the world for three and a half years studying poverty reduction strategies and anti-hunger in Costa Rica, Taiwan, Thailand, India, Turkey, China, and South Africa before ultimately settling down in New York to finish her thesis on the subject. Currently living in Brooklyn, her greatest passions are meeting strangers and helping them solve problems through digital strategy, and cool ranch doritos.
