We’re big supporters of institutions and programs that share our values in increasing access to education as well as offering social and economic mobility to those in need. Occasionally we like to throw parties (for a good cause of course) with such organizations.
Pencils of Promise is a wonderful non-profit with one goal: to provide more educational opportunities to children in developing countries like Laos, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. The organization’s work focuses on building new schools, creating sustainable educational models, teacher, training, and community engagement. The charity is only six years old but was able to build over 150 schools by June 2013. Earlier this year, GA funded a PoP elementary school in Guatemala too. High quality education is hard to come by in that part of the world so this school will serve thousands of kids for years to come.
All of this great works deserves an even better celebration.
Pencils of Promise will hold its annual charity gala on October 22nd at 7pm down at Cipriani Wall Street. After the soiree, GA is the official host for the after party at Catch NYC on 21 9th Avenue. Doors open at 10pm.
