Art.sy is the Pandora for the fine art world. Powered by the Art Genome Project, Art.sy is building a global high-end art marketplace, integrated with a personal recommendation engine using their proprietary artificial intelligence technology. Investors include Eric Schmidt, Wendi Murdoch, and other leading figures in the technology, media, and art worlds.
DUBSET is the first ever legally compliant internet radio platform curated by the world’s top DJs. Listeners can discover new music recorded live at premier clubs and exclusive events, find and follow new DJs, and create their own custom channel with their favorite mixes. DUBSET leverages MixSCAN, its patent pending technology created to fingerprint and automate the reporting process on uploaded mixes—allowing listeners to download individual tracks and ensure that recording artists are properly compensated for content use.
Fashism provides instantaneous community-driven fashion feedback on what one is wearing—a crowdsourced stylist that uses social recommendations to help users navigate their wardrobe based on their personal style.
Food52 is the first social hub for people who love food. It’s a place where, together, home cooks create cookbooks, take on food projects, help others with Foodpickle—their real time food Q&A—and band together to support local food producers. Food52 was founded by former The New York Times food columnists and authors Amanda Hesser and Merrill Stubbs.
Fueled is an iPhone and Android design and development team based in NYC that works with startups and big brands to ideate, design, develop, and deploy robust mobile apps. What sets Fueled apart from traditional mobile shops is the way they integrate UI/UX, marketing, and general strategy into the production path for every project. They don’t build apps; they build companies and platforms.
Movable Ink makes it super simple for companies to capture real-time web content and add it to their emails. When opened, these emails change based on time, recipient location, and personalization rules. The best part? It works on any email client.
Neverware is revolutionizing the desktop industry with the Neverware Juicebox, a server appliance that allows all the old computers in a building to run extremely fast with the latest operating systems. Nodejitsu is a technology company creating a cloud platform-as-a-service and marketplace for node.js applications. Nodejitsu aims to offer first class scalability, fault tolerance, and hosting to individual developers through enterprise customers in concert with growing an open source community focused on the future of web development.
Opinionaided is an opinion-based Q&A community that delivers responses in realtime. In less than a year, the service has delivered 100 million responses to over 1 million questions. Users ask questions, build their reputation with helpful responses, and make friends. Investors include SoftBank, General Catalyst, DFJ, and a number of high-profile angels.
Paperlex is a legal document platform that makes it easy for businesses to customize, transact, and warehouse legal documents in the cloud.
PickiPicki brings the consignment shop experience to the social web. They feature a constantly changing inventory of several thousand trend relevant curated Designer and Couture fashion finds.
Postling creates best-of-breed social media tools for small businesses, empowering companies and helping local communities thrive in a world of big brands. Much of the core team hails from Etsy (two were the original cofounders of Etsy), and investors include Dave McClure, David Cohen, Gary Veynerchuk, and a handful of other prominent angels.
Profitably is building a next-gen business analytics and financial optimization software-as-a-service, with onboard tools to drive growth, optimize business operations, and manage profitability. Profitably brings together a respected tech, design, and sales team, with a product that has received recent critical acclaim.
ShowMe is an open learning community where anyone can share their knowledge. ShowMe makes it easy to discover not only great learning content, but also great teachers, on any topic under the sun.
Stardust Bottling Co. is reinventing email. The Internet’s first killer app and most popular communication tool of all-time hasn’t evolved much beyond its origins in the 1970’s. Rethought from the ground up, Stardust is building a new experience for this classic technology.
SwitchBiotics is working to develop new antibiotic medicines for life threatening bacterial infections, particularly those caused by ‘gram negative’ superbugs like E.coli and P.aeruginosa. SwitchBiotics is collaborating with leading academic researchers to develop their promising science through the preclinical proof-of-principle stage in an entirely virtual model. Once a critical value inflection point is reached, the company will seek a license or acquisition by a bigger pharmaceutical player to drive clinical development of the project.
